Given the fact that we hadn't played as a team for about a month, I approached today's inaugural Taichung Society Cup game with a bit of worry. The noontime match was against Taichung City F.C., a team we had heard good things about and had never played before.

An outstanding job today on our long-awaited win over Tubbies! Although the score was 0-1, there was little doubt that the better team won in a very competitive, hard-fought game that as exciting up to the very end.

Today's match versus Huiwen was one of the better games we've played recently in many ways. Not only did the competition provide just the kind of tough game we needed but we also rose to the challenge and played some great football.

Hi Guys,

It's easy to get discouraged about today's 1-2 loss to Tubbies, but it's good to keep things in perspective. We actually ended up with a stronger team than it looked like only 36 hours ago, scored a beautiful goal, fought hard and conceded two goals. Despite fielding less than our best side, we also could have easily tied or won this match, given a few things going slightly differently. All this being said, we are clearly in a rebuilding/reorganization mode and need to fix a few things before we're fully up to speed again.

Today's match versus Tunghai University wasn't our prettiest game, but we improved as we went along--despite the first half ending 0-0, the final score was 6-0 in our favor.

Hi Guys,

Perhaps it was the shiny trophy sitting on the bench while we played, or the cheering skills of injured Robert watching from the sidelines, or the beautiful weather, or perhaps it was just the fact we showed up with a great squad, but Sunday's game against what was supposed to be the Huiwen first team turned into a 8-1 demolition of our opponents that surprised us all.

Hi Guys,

This evening, we are the proud owners of a sizable piece of new hardware, thanks to an outstanding weekend performance that saw us bounce back from disappointment and overcome some big challenges to emerge as the undisputed Taipei Fall Cup Plate Champions, defeating Taipei Carnegies 2-0 in the final to clinch this honor.

Today's Moon Festival match against Scunners was an enjoyable one (to watch, at least) that not only was a warm-up for next weekend's tourney, but also gave an almost entirely-new squad the chance to work together--thanks to the fact that we were missing about 60% of our usual starting line-up.

The squad was a mix of regulars like Laurent, Chris, Artem, Eugene, Gary, Seth and Oscar, guys who had been away for a while like Cathal, Cesar and Jose, recent additions like Derek and HK, and one new arrival--defender Casey, who I'd like to welcome to Compass.

Today's "Taichung Derby" was everything a local football fan could ask for--a very hard-fought, back-and-forth match between the best sides that both Compass and Tubbies could field, on one of the hottest days of the year so far.

Tubbies showed up with every starter on their team, so I was relieved that we were able to do the same (with the exception of Rob and Ross). As the game was played under clear skies and hot muggy weather, this was also destined to be a game where fitness, attrition and substitutes would/could be a deciding factor.
