Match Report 4-1 Win vs. Tunghai University

March 23, 2014

Hi Guys,

It has been a long time since we've played Tunghai University so most of us weren't entirely sure what to expect going into today's match, other than the reasonable expectation that our opponents would be better than Feng Chia University, which they were.

Match Report 11-0 Win vs. Feng Chia University

March 16, 2014

"Annihilation" isn't a word I use often or lightly to describe matches, but that's about all that can be said about today's game versus Feng Chia University.

Match Report 1-1 Tie vs. Taichung Tubbies

March 9, 2014

Hi Guys,

Although it was a very tough, occasionally desperate, fight, today's match is exactly the kind of challenging game that is extra enjoyable, satisfying and valuable for us. We fully expected the Tubbies to come out with the best that they could throw at us and they didn't disappoint, with most of their "first string" squad present.

Match Report 3-1 Win vs. Chung Hsing University

March 2, 2014

Hi Guys,

As I suspected, Chung Hsing University showed up with a bigger, tougher side today. Although they were missing their German center defender (who has gone home) they had 3-4 of their African players including, I was later informed, a visiting member of the Taipei Animals. As Chris remarked afterwards, this resulted in the unusual chance to play against an opponent who focuses on possession of the ball almost as much as we do.

Match Report 4-0 Win vs. Chung Hsing University

February 16, 2014

Hi Guys,

To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect for today's match, given the fact that we had so many new players showing up and were missing a number of "old-timers". However, it only took about 30 minutes to have me feeling much more confident, as the new guys fit in well and, while it certainly wasn't our best match, things turned out pretty well.

Match Report 2-2 Tie vs. Taichung PE College

January 18, 2014

Hi Guys,

Tonight's epic match against PE College was memorable for a number of reasons, some good and some bad. There were certainly some big highs and lows.

As usual PE College showed up over an hour early with 24 players and were already running drills around cones by the time Compass players began to arrive. It was like watching a military boot camp in action. On top of this, the temperatures suddenly plummeted into the low teens, thanks to some arctic gales that began gusting across the city.

Match Report 5-0 Win vs. Scunners

January 12, 2014

Much to our relief, the Scunners didn't cancel and actually showed up this afternoon, although we did have to loan them a player (thanks for volunteering, Travis). Their own 11th player showed up to play about 88 minutes into the match. Nevertheless, they played a spirited game against us and never gave up, challenging us aggressively on most balls and even getting a handful of offensive opportunities.

Match Report 6-0 Win vs. Chung Hsing University

November 24, 2013

Hi Guys,

Our 6-0 finish over Chung Hsing University was a refreshing win after two back-to-back draws before today. Despite the score, CHU also turned out to be a decent side that offered Compass a good challenge and is definitely worth playing again (perhaps as soon as this next Sunday).

Match Report 3-1 Win vs. Huiwen First Team

Hi Guys,

I think you'll all agree that today's victory over Huiwen was MUCH more satisfying that some of the blow-outs we've had over other teams recently. Huiwen provided significantly tougher competition, being fast, skilled and, for some reason, bigger in size than I seem to remember. There were at least a couple periods in today's game where their quickness and rapid passing also had us scrambling somewhat chaotically on defense for minutes at a time.

Match Report Wins vs. Taipei Magpies and Feng Chia University

October 13, 2013

Hi Guys,

Today's 45-minute matches against the Taipei Magpies and Feng Chia University were jokingly referred to as 'training exercises' by some of you after what can only be described as a complete rout of our two opponents. At the very least, it was beautiful, slightly-hot day for football and a great opportunity for some of you to fatten up your goal tallies.
